Slightly on the healthy side

I try to eat healthily, but don’t we all. I also like to change up recipes to fit my tastes and style, living with type 1 diabetes for 43 years has changed the way I look at food. I have some what watched what I put into my body, even thru my not very rebellious teen years. I still had the nice things sometimes, takeaway Chinese, hot chocolate even KFC small things in the world of food I now know.

My husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in October last year even though I cook dinner every night and was packing him lunch (that he has stopped taking). I now work for Vitamix as a sales demonstrator, so this give me a reason to use extra fruit and vegetables in our diets. The thing he now needs to do is control his portion size, that will be a hard one as he was brought up going back for seconds (even thirds).

I am sitting in my local coffee shop not so flash, but the coffee is good (I only drink a long black with a little milk on the side). I watch people outside buying sushi (rice with sugar, salt and mayo added), it tastes so nice and think they are sure they are eating healthy food. They say well it’s better than a hamburger (is it?)

But the new go to words I keep hearing is “Sometimes food” but all food is sometimes, otherwise we would continuously be putting something in our mouths.
